What are the advantages to join drop shipping company? May be sell stuff before buying?
It means no need to invest money and hold stock. Am i right? Anybody tell me that how can i do online business in this format? Is here nay company which selling stuff and supply to our customers behalf of us? Or any company’s fully goods loaded website which do as above.
I live in UK.
"Drop shipping" is an arrangement between you and the manufacturer or distributor of the product you sell. The manufacturer or distributor — NOT YOU — ships the product to your customers.
So you are right. You would not hold any stock. What you would be doing is selling the companies product on their behalf. Your job would be to pass on the orders you get.
Here's an example: Let's say Ted wants to set up a web site that sells skin care products. Instead of filling his house with cases and cases of stock, and then going downstairs each time an order comes in, Ted puts together a drop shipping arrangement with a manufacturer who ships the products to his customers directly.
And the best part is that the manufacturer will happily ship the products using shipping labels with Ted's company name, address, and logo instead of their own. The product arrives at the customer's house a few days later, and they never know that the product wasn't shipped directly from Ted's warehouse.
There are a few advantages to this model. First, it saves you the cost of building your own inventory.
No inventory also means no leftovers. If the product you sell suddenly becomes outdated or obsolete you aren't the one with a house full of stock that nobody will buy.
Drop shipping can be an easy way to get started selling online. Since the manufacturer or distributor takes care of warehousing and shipping, you'll be able to concentrate your efforts on building your web site and marketing your products.
But there are some pitfalls you want to avoid as well. There are some important questions you should ask before you get started with any company, and there are some drop-shipping scams out there that you need to avoid.
Here is a website telling you all about it and offering you a free tutorial and plenty of advice on how to start up, etc.

This is okay in the current situation were prices are dropping so you can sell at one price and by the time you buy the price might well have gone down. What you have to be careful of is when the economy starts to recover and prices start to rise then you can find you have sold at the price that gives you your margin but when you go to buy your margin has gone or you could even be trading at a loss.
